In this post we will learn How to Port TWRP Recovery for MTK Device without PC. This method is one of the simplest method for porting TWRP Recovery image for Mediatek Device. You don’t need your phone rooted. So this works for all the non-rooted devices. So port boot.img using this method.



The method supports all the mediatek chipset like MT6592, MT6591, MT6595, MT6582, MT6572, MT6752, MT6753, MT6737, MT6735, MT6752, MT6750 etc and all other chipset.


Requirements:

Following are the requirements if you want to port TWRP Recovery for MTK Device without PC.

1. Image Studio for Android : Download Link




2. Stock boot Image (boot.img)
3. Any TWRP Recovery with same Chipset & same Kernel


Steps for Porting:

Step 1:
Make Two Folder and rename it as “Stock” & “Port” in External Storage.
Now Copy Stock “boot.img” Stock Folder & Custom recovery to Port Folder.

Step 2:
Open “Android Image Studio” & Unpack Stock “boot.img” Using “Unpack/Mount” Option.

Step 3:
Now Export/Copy All Unpacking File in Stock Folder Under Using “Export Img” Option.

Step 4:
Now after Exporting Clean All Using “Cleanup” Option.

Step 5:
Rename Custom Recovery Default Name To “boot.img” & Unpack Port/Custom Recovery Following Stock boot.img Unpacking.

Step 6:
Now Delete the Unpacked File & Folder.
Then import the Same Unpacked File & Folder From Stock Folder.

- Split_img (Whole Folder)
- ramdisk/ueventd.rc

Step 7:
Now Repack it Using “Repack” Option.

Step 8:
After repacking, Import “img-new.img” File from Port Folder
This final file is the Ported New Recovery.img for your device
